KMV hosts a Short Term Course on Fostering Social Responsibility and Community Engagement in Higher Education Institutions of India under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, Govt. of India

A short term course on Fostering Social Responsibility and Community Engagement in Higher Education Institutions of India was organised at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaanof the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The short term course was organised by RCI UBA- Rural Development Department, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research Chandigarh in collaboration with KMV. This short term course will be from 22/03/2022 to 26/03/2022. Mr. Jaspreet Singh, ADC Rural, District Jalandhar was the chief guest. Dr. Hemant Vinayak, Coordinator RCI, UBA, NITTTR Chandigarh, was the keynote speaker. The eventcommenced with the auspicious lamp ceremony. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the esteemed guests and talked about the importance of our responsibilities towards the upliftment of society. She apprised everyone about the fact that KMV has adopted 5 villages and many schools and is also working towards the greater cause of social development and many libraries have alsobeen made for thedevelopment of rural sector. Mr Jaspreet singh ADC, Rural, District Jalandhar commenced his address by saying that the future of any nation is in the hands of its teachers. He said that we tend to ignore our social responsibility and there is a need to generate awareness about it. Putting light on the issues faced by the villages of the country, he urged everyone to come forward and help for the betterment of the rural sector.Dr Hemant Vinayak talked about the inculcation of two creditcourses on Social Responsibility and Community Development  by UGC in the curriculum so that the students can get a better understanding of social development. Mr.Panthdeep Singh, Sarpanch, VillageChhina, Gurdaspur was the speaker for the next technical session. National award winner Mr Panthdeeptalked about a model village in his presentation sharing his own journey of reaching pinnacles. He said that the foremost requirement for the development is the changing of the mindsets of the people. He also shared the success story of his village China, which is a model for other villages to follow& also made people awareabout the working of Gram Panchayat. In the third technical session, Mrs. Maninder Kaur shared her views on Water Management’. She talked in detail about the dire need of saving water and to save it judiciously for the generations to come.
