Prof. Dr. Harvinder Singh, Punjab University, Chandigarh was the resource person for the webinar. During the webinar, Dr Harvinder very eloquently explained the beauty of Raag Basant. He said that the whole nature is musical and man has a very intrinsic relationship with the nature from the times immemorial. He explained that Basant denotes the changing of the season and the newness of spring. This Raag encourages the mind to brush away its selfishness, just like spring-cleaning removes all the cobwebs and creates a fresh start. There are feelings of hope and expectation of a new beginning and the start of a new cycle. During the conclusion, various students asked queries from Dr Harvinder to which the resource person responded in a very detailed manner. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Hindustani music have responded to nature by creating raags related to the seasons in the nature. Basant has inspired them to create raags and compositions that reflect the mood and imagery associated with this season. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Poonam Sharma, Head, PG Department of Music and other faculty members for successfully organising the national webinar.
