In another initiative to promote research among its faculty and students the Research Cell of KMV, in collaboration with IQAC and Institute’s Innovation Council, organised a Research Forum. In this forum Dr. Kuldeep Singh Nagla, former Head and Associate Professor, Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar was the resource person. Dr Nagladelivered a talk on Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights.PrincipalProf. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi during her inaugural address emphasised thatas mentors and leaders of the society, wemust conquer upon our mental complexities in order to keep learning and changing. She stressed that participation in research activities and listening to the expert talks act as a big motivation for all the academicians. Referring to the 12 IPRs acquired recently by KMV, she affirms that the KMV faculty has potential to do wonders in research.Dr Kuldip Singh Nagla appreciated the efforts of KMV faculty in the field of IPR and congratulated KMV for 12 IPRs recently acquired by various departments. He comprehensively explained the Indian patent system and its requirements&also discussed the concepts of Patent, Design, Copyrights and Trademark. He stressed that it is very important to identify what actually qualify for a new invention for registration. He asserts that we should keep on trying new innovations despite of failures.After the session, participants also asked their queries from Dr Nagla to which he replied very eloquently.
