KMV Organises Online Workshop on Diverse Scopes of Research in Performing and Visual Arts

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) has always remained a step forward to conduct workshops for students undertaking new research projects and methodologies. In a new initiative, an online workshop was organised by the Faculty of Performing and Visual Arts with the support of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (KMV) on “Diverse scopes of Research in Performing and Visual Arts” with more than 250 participants. Dr.Rajesh Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Music, GNDU, Amritsar and (Retd) Professor Dr.Jaspal Singh from Government College, Hoshiarpur were the resource person for the workshop. Dr Rajesh Sharma addressed the participants about the importance of music and conveyed them best possible topics for undertaking research in music with describing them the criteria for selection of research topic and various research methodologies. Dr. Jaspal Singh delivered his talk on innovative ideas for research on Visual Arts and also motivated participants to initiate new research in field of Fine Arts. The subject experts also conducted a question answers session with participants and responded to  their queries about the subject. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the resource persons  for their valuable information. She averred that it is very important that the students should be able to learn the various dimensions of research in performing & visual arts as it will provide them new skills for their study. She lauded the efforts of Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Performing and Visual Arts, Mr. Yogeshwar Hans, Head, Department of Fine Arts and Members of I.Q.A.C, Mrs Parminder Kaur, Dr. Gopi Sharma& Dr. Jatinder.
