Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Ranked No.1 College in India by India Today Ranking has always been endeavouring for the overall development of the students. Keeping with the trend, Commerce Mela 2019- Students Endeavour was organized by PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the event with her inspirational words. The students put up various stalls of eatables such as Bhel Puri, Golgappas, Sandwiches, Doughnuts, Pizza, Ice cream cakes and Kulcha along with many exciting games. Keeping in consideration the approaching festive days, the Retail store of KMV also came up with a wide variety of decorative items. To attract Selfie lovers, a separate corner was created with guitar and props for clicking their pictures. Another attractive feature of the Mela was a Beauty Salon offering many attractive services like nail art, hair styles and attractive patterns of mehandi which received an overwhelming response of the staff and students. The event had another prime objective of serving the noble cause of helping the deprived section of society. The profit earned from the stalls will be deposited in Poor Students Fund which will be utilised for providing concessions and scholarships to needy students. Therefore, the twin objectives of promoting holistic development of students together with welfare of society were met by this venture. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasized on the importance of entrepreneurial skills in current scenario where students need to supplement their classroom learning with requisite expertise in trade and business to scale the heights of success. She lauded the efforts of PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for organizing such events and making the students learn essential skills to become self reliant & financially independent.
