KMVites acquainted about the Preparation Required for Civil Services Exam

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has been striving tirelessly for the holistic growth of students. The College has a sustained record of Excellence in Placements and many students have successfully cleared various Competitive exams for CA, ICWA, UGC NET, GATE, Bank PO, Railways and many more due to the untiring and ceaseless efforts by the Centre for Competitive Exams of KMV. The Centre for Competitive Exam under the aegis of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has been organizing various workshops, extension lectures and seminars for its young aspiring minds. Keeping with this trend, a workshop was organized on How to Prepare for Civil Services Exams. Dr. Kuldip Singh, Former Professor, Department of Political Science, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Director, Centre for Competitive Exams was the resource person for this workshop. Dr. Kuldip Singh addressing the students highlighted the relevance of civil services in the present context. He reiterated that the students should primarily have a passion and commitment for clearing any competitive exam. They should thoroughly analyze the syllabus of civil services exams before starting with its preparation. Besides, there is a need to create temperament, lifestyle and discipline& the source of study material for preparation should be credible. Dr. Singh further stated that the role of teachers is very vital throughout the whole process for the preparation, which includes hard work and commitment both on the part of the teachers and students. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inspired the students to actively participate in all awareness and Placement drives and avail of the opportunities provided to them on the college campus. She averred that civil services are the backbone for the success of democratic regimes of the world. It is because of the constant control and expertise of civil servants, that  democracy is flourishing in India despite the mounting challenges and pressures.Dr Iqbal Singh presented a formal Vote of Thanks. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Sabina Batra, Incharge, Centre for Competitive Exams for successfully organizing the workshop.
