Prof. Roger Charles Nunn, Professor and Head of the Department of English, American University of Sharjah, UAE Delivers the Lectureunder English Chapter of International Series

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2021 (various categories), has once again raised the benchmark of innovation by organising the KMV International Series (English Chapter), in which stalwarts of English language and literature from globally renowned international universities have been delivering lectures for students and faculty.KMV’s International Series is running at full swing and witnessing the attendance of over 100 participants who joined virtually through Zoom, Facebook.Continuing the same, the most recent lecture of the series was delivered by Prof. Roger Charles Nunn, Professor and Head of the Department of English, American University of Sharjah, UAE, who profusely admired KMV’s heritage of women empowerment and high academic standards. Dr. Nunnilluminated on the topic “Objectivity in Academic and Literary Discourse” highlighting the inevitability of the reader and writer’s bias in reading and analysing texts. Principal Prof.Dr.  Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that Dr. Nunn’s ideas on objectivity and subjectivity are extremely relevant and applicable to the roles of administrators, teachers, and students alike. She further highlighted that this International series is an excellent example of how KMV relentlessly follows the tradition of progressive intellectual activities, maintains and upgrades its standards of excellence, fosters an environment of dynamic opportunities, and promotes a culture of life-long learning. Prof. Dwivedi expressedher gratitude to Dr. Nunn for sharing his perspectives on literature and announced lectures by an extraordinary lineup of globally acclaimed academicians and scholars slated in the upcoming weeks. She lauded the efforts ofDr. Madhumeet, Head, Department of English&the faculty of PG Department of Englishsuccessfully organising the international series. It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Vijay Singh Thakur (Dhofar University, Oman) and Tanju Deveci (Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi) also addressed the students during the previous sessions of International series held at KMV.
