Phulkari in Inter Zonal Youth Festival November 9, 2025

The P.G. Department of Fashion Designing of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), Jalandhar, once again showcased its excellence at the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival organized by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, on 9th November 2025. Tammana Thakur, a student of B.Sc. Fashion Designing, 5th Semester, represented the department in the Phulkari competition and won the 2nd Prize for her remarkable work. Her piece beautifully reflected the cultural heritage of Punjab through vibrant threads, traditional motifs, and skilled craftsmanship. This achievement highlighted her dedication, creativity, and mastery over traditional embroidery techniques. The accomplishment brought immense pride to the department and further emphasized KMV’s commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and preserving India’s rich textile traditions.
