Workshop on CV Building Equips Students with Professional Skills August 21, 2024

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a

workshop on “CV Building”

under the aegis of the

Career Counselling & Placement Cell

, headed by

Mrs. Suman Khurana

, Head, PG Department of Computer Science & Applications. The session was conducted by

Ms. Vandana Raheja

, Senior Business Development Manager – University Canada West.

Ms. Raheja explained the

key differences between a Resume and a CV

, and guided students on essential components such as contact details, educational background, skills, accomplishments, objectives, and co-curricular activities. She emphasised the importance of highlighting leadership, problem-solving abilities, projects, teamwork, and strong communication and technical skills.

She also introduced the

5 P’s of a Resume

—Painless, Perfect, Page, Paper, and Position—and encouraged students to pursue certifications or dual degrees to gain a competitive edge. The workshop witnessed an overwhelming response with

over 400 students

in attendance.
