Faculty Introduction

The PG Department of Mathematics under the esteemed institution was established in 1945. It aims to train students who are oriented towards research and teaching in advance areas of Mathematics. The Department not only provides formal classroom education but also inculcates a spirit of inquiry and world view in its students to explore the best in them, thus making this process of learning an exciting academic journey. The teaching methodology includes lectures, student seminars, workshops, practical training in mathematical software including Matlab, Mathematica, computational programming- C, Python, R, written assignments, tests, project work and student presentations. A degree in Mathematics prepares the students for careers in different associations under Government and Private sectors and students find commendable placements in varied areas as scientists in DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organisation), AAI (Airport Authority of India), Statisticians, Operation Research Analysts, Actuarians and many more. The outstanding results of the students in the past years shows that our alumni have occupied leading positions in top ranked premier institutes of education and banking.
