Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) is miles ahead of other educational institutions in the region in terms of quality, rankings and new age progressive education introduced in the college. Students of autonomous systems have extra benefits as KMV being the only autonomous institution of the city, is offering student student-friendly examination system along with other benefits. Degrees are provided by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar while exams are held by KMV under the Autonomous system of the college. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that under the autonomous status, students of this prestigious institution have additional benefits under its examination policy. Under Autonomy, KMV has introduced Continuous Assessment (CA) in all the Programmes under Continuous Evaluation System (CES) and Credit-Based Continuous Evaluation Grading System (CBCEGS).The college has also registered with DigiLocker and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and all the data of students has also been uploaded and is presently live on the DigiLocker Portal. Students are not only offered a compact date sheet but a customised examination schedule so that if some students have any competition exam that clashes with the exam date, the date sheet is immediately changed so that students do not miss any opportunity. Also, off days in examinations are provided keeping in mind the difficulty level of papers. Apart from this, there is also a provision of retests just after end end-of-semester examination in case a student has to miss any paper due to any mishap or any other unavoidable circumstance to prevent the loss of precious whole year of the student’s. Another plus point of the examination system in KMV is transparency. Students are provided the opportunity to check their answer sheets within one week of the declaration of their results. If a student is not satisfied with the evaluation she can apply for reevaluation of the sheet and a new result is declared within a very short period&an internal assessment is introduced to reduce the burden of final exams on students. Principal Prof.Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi concluded by saying that KMV under autonomy is always introducing new reforms to fulfil the requirements of the students under the New Education Policy and to take the quality of education to par with the top global universities.
