Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has officially launched a week-long series of activities to mark Anti-Ragging Week. This week is to be celebrated from 12 to 18 August under the guidelines of UGC. The initiative, aimed at raising awareness and fostering a safe environment for new students, began with a vibrant poster and slogan exhibition prepared by the students themselves. The week long activities will feature a range of events designed to educate and engage the college community including Orientation Sessions. Awareness Rally, Workshops & Seminars and Quiz Competition. In a move to both welcome new students and discourage the practice of ragging, the college also organises traditional Saraswati Pooja. This event, held in a traditional manner, serve as a warm and culturally rich introduction for the newcomers, emphasising the college’s commitment to creating a nurturing and respectful academic environment from day one. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that at present, it is very important to provide information to the students about the wrong practice like ragging and to explain the importance of the law made to refute them as ragging not only prevents a student from moving towards the life goal, but also acts like a termite for the institution. She further maintained that Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, being an anti-ragging institution, provides such a positive environment to new students, in which they can touch the new heights of success by getting good & holistic education. Madam Principal lauded the efforts made by Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare and Nodal Officer Dr. Simarjeet Kaur for successfully organising these activities.
