The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Daljit Ammi, Director, EMMRC, Punjabi University, Patiala. The seminar brought together budding journalists and faculty members from across Punjab to delve into the transformative impact of AI on the media landscape. The session highlighted how artificial intelligence is revolutionising newsrooms—enhancing data analysis, automating routine tasks, and reshaping storytelling techniques. Eminent speaker emphasised the opportunities and ethical challenges AI poses in journalism, such as algorithmic bias and data privacy. As part of the enriching experience, KMV students also explored the Science City’s interactive galleries, gaining insights into cutting-edge scientific innovations. Their visit to the Dinosaur Park was a visual treat, offering a glimpse into prehistoric life through life-sized models and engaging exhibits. The group also toured the Science and Innovation Museums, where they witnessed fascinating displays on space science, robotics, and environmental sustainability. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the initiative, stating, “Such immersive experiences not only broaden our students’ academic horizons but also inspire them to think critically about the evolving role of technology in society. ”She further maintained that the visit proved to be a perfect blend of academic enrichment and scientific curiosity, reinforcing KMV’s vision of nurturing future-ready professionals equipped with knowledge, creativity, and ethical awareness. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Mr Sehajpal Singh, Head, PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication for successfully organising the visit.
