KMV celebrates World Rose Day with a campaign to spread Cancer Awareness

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) observed World Rose Day, a globally recognised day dedicated to bringing hope and joy to cancer patients and their caregivers. The college organised a heartfelt awareness campaign to educate students and the community about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of compassionate support for those battling the disease. The initiative organised by PG Department of Chemistry saw enthusiastic participation from students across various streams. The campus was abuzz with activity as students channeled their creativity and empathy into crafting impactful posters and compelling slogans.The posters& slogans, vibrant and thought-provoking, covered a wide spectrum of cancer-related themes, including the significance of regular health check-ups, the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, the dangers of tobacco and alcohol consumption, and the importance of breaking the stigma associated with cancer. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi addressed the students and faculty, emphasising the profound significance of World Rose Day. She highlighted the critical need for increased awareness regarding cancer, stating, “Cancer is a battle fought by millions globally, and awareness is our strongest weapon. On World Rose Day, we not only pay tribute to the resilience of cancer survivors but also pledge to educate ourselves and others about preventative measures and the crucial role of emotional support. Our students’ creativity in preparing these posters and slogans is a testament to their understanding and commitment to this vital cause. “Prof. (Dr.) Dwivedi further praised the students’ initiative, remarking, “The enthusiasm and dedication shown by our students in preparing these informative materials are truly commendable. Their efforts will undoubtedly contribute to spreading vital information and fostering a more empathetic environment for cancer patients.”
