Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) students of Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) successfully completed a 15 days internship during winter vacations at Sudhama Clinical Laboratory (Begowal), Manav Sehyog Society Dispensaries (Jalandhar), Asha Path Lab (Jalandhar) and Civil Hospital (Indora). The internship focused on practical training in blood testing and routine laboratory procedures. During training, students gained hands-on experience in various blood investigations such as blood grouping, hemoglobin estimation and basic hematological techniques. Students learned correct methods of sample collection, working of various equipment and importance of accuracy as well as maintaining aseptic conditions in diagnostic testing. The internship aimed to strengthen practical skills and enhance understanding of laboratory safety protocols and ethical responsibilities in patient care. The internship proved to be valuable learning experience and contributed significantly to boost confidence of the students. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the students for successful completion of their internship. She acknowledged the efforts of the teachers, coordinators, and laboratory staff who worked together to provide students with a meaningful and educational experience. She averred that such visits play a vital role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application and enhancing their understanding of the healthcare system.
