Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a seven-day NSS camp based on the theme ‘ Youth for My Bharat’ and “Not Me But You”. This seven-day camp will provide volunteerswith aplatform to engage in constructive community service while gaining leadership qualities. The first day of the camp commenced with the inaugural address by Director, Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. She apprised the NSS volunteers with national development goals, drug-free India, healthy communities, sustainability, environmental protection, social harmony and youth empowerment. She further emphasised on the role of youth in the nation building and motivated NSS Volunteers to work for a social cause. In the end, she motivated volunteers to carry out activities under NSS camp with full enthusiasm and zeal and to make optimum use of this platform for social service.Avibrant cultural programme followed, where NSS volunteers reflected their  talents by celebrating India’s cultural dynamism  reinforcing the vision of one week long special NSS Camp.  Other than the tree plantation, &cleanliness SVEEP activities  etc., the camp also aims at  conducting special  awareness drive to accelerate adoption of  PNG and CNG based on the theme Har Ghar PNG, Har Gaadi CNG. Activities such as group discussion on  the issues namely “Waste -to -Energy Model” shall also be conducted in collaboration with Municipal Cooperation Jalandhar especially on waste segregation. Dr Ashima Sahni NSS ProgrammeOfficer, Dr Sonik Bhatia, Mrs  Anand Prabha, Dr Iqbal Singh and MsPriyanka discussed with volunteers about schedule of the activities to be followed for one week. The volunteers expressed enthusiasm and a strong commitment to engaging with the community on these important topics.
