Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) inaugurated a vibrant and informative Wall Magazine display titled “The Canvas of Indian English Literature” to showcase the richness and diversity of Indian writing in English. Director Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the wall magazine with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and averred that activities like these give the students a platform to showcase their creativity and talent. The exhibit highlighted the contributions of eminent writers such as Sarojini Naidu, Rabindranath Tagore, R. K. Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, and Sudha Murty. The display featured well-known literary works including “Untouchable”, “The Guide”, “Train to Pakistan”, and “Tughlaq”, reflecting themes of social justice, human values, and cultural identity. The play “Silence! The Court is in Session” by Vijay Tendulkar, was also showcased, emphasising issues of gender and societal norms. The presentation successfully highlighted how Indian English literature serves as a powerful medium to express the country’s social realities, traditions, and evolving perspectives. The students put up a strenuous effort to decorate the board with beautiful charts. Prof. Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English and all the students for successfully preparing the wall.
