The P.G. Department of Zoology, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV), organized an educational trip for the students of B.Sc. Medical, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), and M.Sc. Zoology to the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar on 6th March, 2026. The aim of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to medical laboratories and diagnostic techniques.

During the visit, the students explored the museum of the institute, where they observed various preserved anatomical specimens and organs, which helped them understand human anatomy and different disease conditions.Students also visited different laboratories including the Blood Colletion and maintenance Center, Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry laboratories. They learned about blood donation, blood grouping, blood component separation, and preservation techniques. They were also introduced to various laboratory procedures used for disease diagnosis, microbial identification and biochemical analysis of blood and urine.The visit proved to be highly informative and helped students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory applications. The worthy Madam Director, Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the Department of Zoology for organizing such an informative educational visit and encouraged the department to continue conducting similar activities for the academic enrichment of the students.
