The Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, ranked No. 1 college of Punjab and among the top nationally by India Today, Outlook Magazine and Times of India Group, celebrated World Water Day 22 March 2026. The event was organized by the Department of Zoology & Environmental Sciences.

The programme was held under the 2026 World Water Day theme, “Where water flows, equality grows,” which highlights safe water and sanitation as human rights and their link to gender equality. The college organized poster-making and awareness sessions to sensitize students about water conservation, sustainable use of water resources, and the importance of ensuring clean and equal access to water for all.

Around 50 students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity and concern for environmental sustainability. The sessions proved informative and inspiring, encouraging students to adopt responsible practices for water conservation.

Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of Dean Student Welfare Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, Dean Life Sciences Dr. Manju Sahni,  Dr. Archana Saini, Head of Zoology and EVS Department, Lt. Sufalica Kalia Department of EVS  & ANO NCC and Dr. Karina Department of EVS. for making the event a success. She also encouraged students to stay connected with such environmental initiatives in future.
