The institution takes immense pride in announcing that Dr.Gopi Sharma and Dr. Neetu Verma, esteemed faculty members from the P.G. Department of Physics, have been nominated as Members of the Interim Governing Body (IGB) of the Society of Glass Technology – India Section (SGT-IS).The SGT-IS is being led by the CSIR–Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Kolkata, in collaboration with the Society of Glass Technology, UK. The newly constituted IGB aims to foster innovation, sustainability, and advanced research in glass science and technology across India.
The nomination of Dr. Neetu Verma and Dr.Gopi Sharma stands as a recognition of their significant academic and research contributions in glass science, materials characterization, and optical studies, as well as their commitment to advancing applied research with industrial relevance. The P.G. Department of Physics at KMV has consistently demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research. The department has undertaken several innovative projects in areas such as glass and ceramic materials, nanomaterials, thin films, and renewable energy applications, resulting in publications in reputed international journals and collaborative initiatives with industries and national research institutions. Its sustained focus on sustainability-oriented materials and solar energy technologies aligns closely with India’s national scientific and environmental priorities. Madam Principal, Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi, congratulated both faculty members on this prestigious achievement and lauded their efforts in enhancing the institution’s research profile at national and international levels. She emphasized that such recognitions reaffirm KMV’s unwavering commitment to fostering scientific inquiry, innovation, and women’s leadership in research and technology.
