K.M.V celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas with patriotic fervour

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), a heritage institution, organized an event to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas with patriotic fervour. During the program, Vaishnav Acharya Dr. Shri Pundrik Goswami Ji Maharaj—a youth motivator and spiritual speaker—addressed the students on the theme “Shastra bhi, Shaastr bhi” (Knowledge as well as Weapons). Organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club, the event saw active participation from Rotary Club members. KMV Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi warmly welcomed the honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Goswami Pundrik Ji Maharaj, along with the visiting Rotary Club members. In her welcome address, she highlighted the significance of Dr. Pundrik Ji’s presence on this special occasion, noting that Kargil Vijay Diwas stands as a symbol of national pride and self-respect, and expressed confidence that his address would deeply inspire Indian values and patriotism among the students. Following her, Mr. Bhavesh Madan from the Rotary Club delivered an emotional speech emphasising the importance of the Kargil War in Indian history and honouring the valour and ultimate sacrifice of Indian soldiers. In his keynote address, Dr. Shri Pundrik Goswami Ji stated that in an era marked by violence, disorder, and loss of life and property, weapons are omni present while sacred wisdom remains noticeably absent. He emphasised that only a brave individual who truly understands the essence of scriptures can use weapons responsibly; without moral values and sacred knowledge, corrupt and tyrannical individuals merely misuse weapons to harm humanity. He remarked that Kargil Diwas reflects India’s glorious history, where soldiers neutralised enemies when necessary and sacrificed their lives when the situation demanded. Furthermore, he highlighted that the harmonious balance between scriptures and weapons has been an unbroken tradition of both Punjab and India at large. The legacy of Gurus and spiritual leaders teaches that scriptures provide direction while weapons provide protection—the scriptures nurture the individual, whereas weapons safeguard society and culture, a truth deeply embedded in Indian consciousness. Concluding his address, he noted that patriotism today is a matter of action rather than mere words, and education must play a leading role in driving this vision forward. Drawing examples from the Mahabharata, the Ramayana, and the lives of the Sikh Gurus, he explained that scriptures define peace while weapons help establish it. At the end of the event, Rotary Club President Mr. Mahesh Gupta expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Goswami Pundrik Ji, the Rotary Club members, and Kanya Maha Vidyalaya.
