KMVites celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June 2026. During this year, the theme of the Yoga Day was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, which aligns with the World Health Organization’s goals, promoting yoga as a lifelong tool to prevent chronic illness, improve mobility, and reduce fall risk among aging populations. The event was organized by the NSS, NCC and NEP 2020 Saarthi unit of KMV on June 21, 2020 at college hostel from 6:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. As per the glorious tradition of KMV, the lightning lamps were conducted following the Gaytri mantra. Director Madam Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her address highlighted that this day has been specially selected as International Yoga Day to spread harmony and peace throughout the world. She presented her views regarding “Yoga 365” campaign which aims to promote Yoga as a mass movement and integrate it into the daily lives of individuals through structured live. Kmvites participated in several nationwide activities as part of the IDY 2026 celebrations especially in the Guinness world record attempts being organized by Ministry of Ayush. KMV believes in preserving the age-tested ever-useful traditions and cultural heritage of India and Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. The Yoga expert madam Anand Prabha, was the key speaker and under her guidance the participant’s performed asanas, Pranayama and other yogic asana which includes standing posture, balancing postures, inverted postures, and backward bending postures etc. Apart from this, the students and KMV fraternity participated in various other activities of Yoga as part of the IDY 2026 celebrations especially in the Guinness world record attempts being organized by Ministry of Ayush. The NSS, NCC and NEP 2020 Saarthi unit participated in this event. Madam Director applauded the activities of NSS department and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ashima Sahni, Dr. Sonik Bhatia, Mrs. Anand Prabha, Lt. Sufalika Kalia and Dr. Prabha.
