75 years of Economic transformation Back

  1. G. Department of Economics celebrated “75 years of Economic transformation” to commemorate the 75 years of independence of India on 18th October 2022. The event started with the welcome of the chief guest Madam Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The Madam Principal inaugurated the KMV Young Economist Association to instill a sense of duty and responsibility on the deserving Young talents of the department. The Madam Principal pinned the badges to the elected young talents:  Ms. Gouri Mittal as president, Sonia as Vice- president, Ramandeep kaur as Secretary, and Harmanpreet Kaur and Ishleen Kaur as joint Secretary.

Further, the event included the PowerPoint presentation, collage making and rangoli making competition on the economic transformation. The students of B.Sc.(Economics), B.A., M.A.(Economics), B.Com. and BBA participated in the event. The students presented their views on the economic transformation of the agriculture sector, industrial sector, health sector, transportation sector, Education system, Defense system, Banking and financial services over the passing years that have shaped the traditional Indian economy into the modern one.  In Rangoli making competition, approximately 21 students participated and showed their creative skills using different colours to depict the economic transformation of India. A total of 27 students participated in Collage making competition and displayed their artistic skills to show the economic transformation.
