P.G. Department of Economics organized online declamation on “If I had the Power…….” on 10th Sep., 2020.  In this declamation contest, students shared their opinions on reforms, policies and changes they will introduce as Prime Minister/ Finance Minister/ RBI Governor. Nearly 50 students participated from M.A. (Eco.), B.Sc. (Eco.), B.A. and B.Com. A couple of students shared their views on caste based reservation which they would like to abolish. They have reflected their preference to adopt income based criteria instead of caste based system. Some students pointed out that they would introduce reforms in political system if they got the opportunity to work  as a minister . A student opined that entrance test should be there for politicians like bureaucrats. The politicians having criminal record should not be strictly allowed to contest the election.  Almost all the students wished to reduce corruption at all levels. A few students emphasised on the expansion of job opportunities by speeding up the pace of development in various sectors. Besides it, various problems like sustainability of agriculture, inflation, problem of capital are being beautifully touched upon by students .
