Poster Making Competition on Basant Panchami Day Back

The P.G. Department of Fine Arts celebrated the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami by organizing a creative Poster Making Competition on January 23, 2026. The event was dedicated to honoring Goddess Saraswati and welcoming the arrival of the spring season through the medium of visual arts.

Event Highlights

* Theme: The core themes for the competition were “Vasant Ritu: The Colors of Spring,” “Saraswati: The Goddess of Knowledge,” and “Nature’s Rebirth.”

* Atmosphere: The department was filled with vibrant hues of yellow, symbolizing energy and enlightenment. Participants reflected this spirit in their artworks, predominantly using warm palettes and floral motifs.

* Techniques: Students displayed their proficiency in various techniques, including traditional Indian patterns, contemporary posters, and intricate fine-line illustrations.

Key Objectives

  1. To encourage students to explore the cultural and spiritual significance of Basant Panchami.
  2. To provide a platform for showcasing creative talent in composition and color theory.
  3. To foster an environment of artistic learning and cultural heritage.

Judgment Criteria

The entries were evaluated by a specialized committee based on the following parameters:

* Composition & Design: Effective use of space and visual balance.

* Color Application: Creativity in using the traditional yellow palette associated with the festival.

* Thematic Accuracy: How well the artwork captured the essence of Basant Panchami.

Conclusion

The competition was a grand success, witnessing enthusiastic participation from the students. The event concluded with an address by the Head of Department, who appreciated the students’ efforts in keeping cultural traditions alive through art. Certificates were awarded to the winners for their outstanding creative contributions.
