The Autonomous and Heritage institution, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya ranked No. 1 college of Punjab and Top National Ranking by India, Outlook Magazine and Times of India Group 2022 in order to spread awareness about the Environment & Biodiversity conservation. The two day event was organized by Department of Environmental Sciences, NCC, NSS and Eco-Club. Every year college grabs opportunity to sensitize students and institutional faculty regarding this vital environmental issue. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the event to showcase their creativity. Students made posters, slogans, Plantation drive and took pledge. The main motive of this event was to make students aware about the Environment & Biodiversity conservation. As the theme of this year was “LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHT RESILIENCE” Students accentuated many issue like protection of species, save plants, save nature and restoring degraded, damaged or destroyed ecosystem and habitats in the environment by active human intervention and actions etc through plantation drive. Meanwhile NCC Cadets planted different useful medicinal, ornamental and plants releasing oxygen during night. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi Congratulated the students and Dean Student welfare Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, Dr. Archana Saini head of Zoology and EVS department, Ms. Sufalica kalia from department of Environment science and incharge NCC for sensitizing the students and making the event big success. She thanked all the students for joining the cause and asked them to connect to such initiatives in future too.
