Awareness Camp on Food adulteration

P.G. Department of Chemistry, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (The Heritage and Autonomous Institution), Jalandhar organized social awareness Camp on Food adulteration at Government Senior Secondary School, PAP Jalandhar on 7th of April, 2022 to commemorate “World Health Day” with an aim to bring a general awareness about the adulterations of food products, motivate and inspire everybody to have a healthy, balanced diet as well as the role of trees in our life. KMV Chemistry NINJAS team under the able guidance of Dr.Manju Sahni, Dr.Narinderjit Kaur & Ms.Ravneet Saini interacted with 70 students and 15 faculty members, clearly mentioning about the adulterants, checking their presence and the harm these adulterants cause to the human being. They performed various  tests to check the presence of adulterants in food products like fruits,spices,milk,pulses,coffee etc.and also aware them to make sure to check and buy products having an FSSAI-validated label, along with the license number, list of ingredients, manufactured date, and its expiration. At the end Dr.Narinderjit Kaur thanked the audience for showing their keen interest and for their wonderful interaction with the KMV team. Principal Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedy congratulated the faculty of Chemistry Department for successfully organising such a meaningful activity and involving the students actively in the drive and making them more conscious and aware about their health.
