PG Department of English offers Elective English as an optional subject and General English as a compulsory subject in all semesters of BA, namely: English Language Skills–I in BA Semester I, Appreciating English Literature–I in BA Semester II, English Language Skills–II in BA Semester III, Appreciating English Literature–II in BA Semester IV, and English Compulsory in BA Semesters V & VI.

These courses are designed to strengthen students’s command over language, literature, and communication skills, and to prepare them for higher studies as well as diverse career opportunities in fields such as teaching, writing,and media.

10+2 in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
