Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised the Annual Convocation in order to celebrate the successful completion of various academic levels of its scholars. The chief guest Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat was accorded floral felicitations on this occasion by Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal and Director Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Eminent members of KMV Managing Committee, Vice President Dr. Sushma Chawla, General Secretary Sh. Alok Sondhi, Sh. Dhruv Mittal, Dr. Sushma Chopra, Dr. Satpal Gupta also graced the occasion with their invaluable presence. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Arya, Department of Sanskrit, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi was also present. The proceedings of this formal event commenced with the lighting of the holy lamp and recital of Vande Matram. Welcoming the distinguished and illustrious guest, KMV Director Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out a detailed report enumerating the Vidyalaya’s meritorious achievements at national as well as international levels in diverse fields like Academics, Co-academics, Research, Sports, NCC and Placements. She highlighted that challenges posed by rapidly changing socio-economic environment and job markets in contemporary times demand new skill sets and competencies among young generations. Such challenges can only be overcome with a right blend of transformational and progressive measures with value-based holistic education that is the hallmark of academic life at KMV. The academic autonomy of KMV has given a clear field to implement upgraded relevant curriculum, innovative teaching methodologies, focus on learning outcomes, exposure to the larger world, global standards in teaching, Internships and international partnerships with Academia and Industry. These successful initiatives implemented in letter & spirit are the winning streaks of KMV that has been forging new pathways with accelerated changes towards evolution of human society for past 140 years. In his presidential remarks, Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal welcomed Acharya Devvrat to the College campus whose visit has added one more name to the impressive list of illustrious visitors who have left their indelible imprints on time. Congratulating the students on the successful completion of a significant phase of their academic journey, Sh. Chander Mohan urged upon the need that all educational institutions and policy makers must resolve to bring about transformative changes on educational landscape to empower today’s youth with strong wings to fly towards zenith of success. The Guest of Honour Sh.Vinay Arya, General Secretary of Delhi Arya Pratinidhi Sabha urged the present generation of scholars to take pride in the premier heritage of KMV and be the true legacy bearers with their distinct accomplishments to adorn the walls of ‘Hall of Fame.’Delivering his Convocation address, the Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat congratulated the young scholars on receiving their degrees and also shared his illuminating views on Character-building feature embedded in Education. The Gujrat Governor underscored the importance and contribution of Arya Samaj and Vedic ideology in bringing about a transformative societal change through women education. He lauded the role of Arya Samaj and Swami Dayanand Saraswati who reintroduced these spiritual texts to the mankind and the result was the emergence of pioneer institutions like Kanya Maha Vidyalaya. The inception of this iconic institution in 1886 was laying a foundation for other women institutions in Northern India in the times to come. The event also witnessed the release of a book named A Legacy of Excellence -Kanya Maha Vidyalaya that chronicles the Vidyalaya’s progressive journey since its inception to the present era. The Department of Home science and Nutrition & Wellness also released a book named Annam Brahma that is a potpourri of traditional recipes reinvented by the students to promote health and nutrition. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee who expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests for adding stature to this formal event. It is noteworthy that as many as 580 students were awarded degrees for UG and PG level courses in Humanities, Sciences, Commerce and IT along with Vocational Studies during the convocation. Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare & Dr. Sabina Batra for successfully organising the convocation.
