KMV Scientist Among Elite Guest Speakers at International Rare Earth Conference
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV), Jalandhar, once again brought laurels to the institution by making a remarkable impact at the International Conference on Science, Technology and Applications of Rare Earth Elements (ICSTAR-2025) held recently in Tirupati. The prestigious three-day global event brought together leading scientists, academicians, and research scholars from across the world to share cutting-edge developments in the field of rare earth elements.
Representing KMV were Dr. Neetu Verma, Associate Professor in Physics, and Ms. Anchal Pathania, a research scholar working under a government-sponsored BRNS project. Dr. Neetu Verma was invited as a Guest Speaker—an honor bestowed upon select, distinguished professionals in the field. Notably, she was among the few women scientists to be invited to speak at the event. Her presentation, which highlighted KMV’s advanced research in material sciences, received an enthusiastic response from both national and international attendees, sparking meaningful discussions and drawing widespread appreciation.
Adding to the college’s pride, Ms. Anchal Pathania delivered an impactful oral presentation and was awarded the 3rd Best Oral Presentation Award, a significant achievement that underscores the quality of research nurtured at KMV. Her work, under the guidance of Dr. Verma, was widely appreciated and marked her as a promising young researcher in the domain of rare earth elements.
KMV was notably the only institution from North India to be represented at ICSTAR-2025, drawing attention for its commitment to high-quality research and the empowerment of women in science. The participation and recognition of Dr. Verma and Ms. Pathania underscored KMV’s growing influence in niche scientific disciplines and its role in shaping the next generation of researchers.
Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended heartfelt congratulations to both representatives for their exemplary contributions and for elevating KMV’s stature on the international academic stage. She stated “Their achievements are a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and women empowerment in STEM,”.
