KMV Celebrates Human Rights Day

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) & Outlook Magazinecelebrated the Human Rights Day.The celebrations were organisedjointly by the Department Political Science and Human Rights, NSS Unit, Department of StudentWelfare.The studentvolunteers of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan participated with full zeal and enthusiasm The theme of the Human Rights Day for the year 2020 is ‘Recover Better- Stand Up For Human Rights’. This theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts.Human rights must be at the center of post COVID-19 world. To celebrate Human Rights Day, online activities such  asE-card making, power-point presentation, slogan writing and poster making were organized. In her online message about the relevance of Human Rights, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi addressing the students averred that KMV was the first institution to start the course of Human Rights in the region at under graduate level. She further motivated the students that by respecting the rights of others and performing their duties with full sincerity will make relevance to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. She also reminded the students about their duty as a voter, which they should adhere with all their sincerity. The student volunteers ofUnnat Bharat Abhiyaanresiding in the adopted villages took the initiatives to create the awareness about Human Rights.Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Mrs. AshimaSahni, Head, Department of Political Science, Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare and Dr. Iqbal Singh for smoothly conducting the online celebrations of Human Rights Day.
