Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 College  in India by India Today Ranking (Various Categories)celebrated the festival of Lohri with full enthusiasm and joy in collaboration with Sarv Sukh Seva Mission, Jalandhar. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guests and wished all the guests, students and faculty success, prosperity and lots of good cheer in all the years to come. She averred that KMV have always been a forerunner in providing the quality education to the girls. The institution also honored the meritorious and outstanding students of the college who achieved a remarkable success in the field of academics & extracurricular activities. Mr. Bawa Henry, MLA, Jalandhar, Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku, MLA, Jalandhar & Mr. Rajinder Bery, MLA, Jalandhar were also present on the occasion. Addressing the students, Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the society is progressing at a very fast pace and in the present scenario gender discrimination should be completely put to an end. She further maintained that the boys and girls both have equal potential and that they should be given equal opportunities for growth & one should strive to create a gender just society. Popular singer Jugraj Sandhu also enthralled the audience with his hit & popular tracks & made the students dance to his tunes. Students also enjoyed peanuts, jaggery and other traditional sweets. They also danced to the cultural songs and infused the whole environment with lots of joy and energy. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dr Gurjot & Department of Journalism & Mass Communication for the successful organization of the event.
