In a vibrant celebration of Van Mahotsav, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Botany in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council and KMV Eco Club, successfully organised the Environmental Awareness Rally under its environmental awareness campaign. The initiative aimed to foster environmental consciousness and promote sustainable practices among the youth and the wider community. The rally was flagged off by the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Before the rally began, she addressed the participants, encouraging them to become vocal ambassadors for environmental care and to champion the cause of a greener, healthier planet. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and eco-club members, who marched through the campus with a powerful message. Adorned with colourful placards, banners, and slogans, they raised awareness about pressing environmental issues. The key themes highlighted included Pollution control, Conservation of biodiversity, Waste management and the urgent need for afforestation. Participants passionately chanted slogans such as “One Tree Today, a Forest Tomorrow,” “Plant Trees, Breathe Easy,” and “Go Green, Live Clean,” reinforcing the importance of tree plantation, waste reduction, and maintaining clean surroundings. It is pertinent to mention that this initiative was organised under the aegis of State Nodal Agency of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and MoEF and CC, Govt. of India’’. The events organised successfully engaged the college community in meaningful dialogue and action, leaving a lasting impact on their environmental outlook.
