KMV inculcates a strong sense of social awareness among the students through holistic education: Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi
KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organised an awareness rally as part of the state government’s Buddy Program. The initiative, led by the Department of Student Welfare, aimed to educate students on a critical social issue and promote a sense of social responsibility. The rally focused on raising awareness about the menace of drug abuse. Students carried posters and placards and chanted slogans to amplify their message. The vibrant display showcased the students’ commitment to creating a drug-free society, with many participants acting as “senior buddies” to their peers. This peer-to-peer approach is a core tenet of the Buddy Program, which seeks to foster positive influence and leadership among students. At KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, the program involves the formation of small groups of students, each led by a senior “buddy.” These groups participate in various activities, including poster-making competitions, lectures and awareness rallies to spread knowledge and support their peers. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV is an institution that believes in a holistic education, which includes a strong sense of social awareness. She further maintained that the success of this awareness rally is a testament to the dedication of our students and faculty to tackling social evils. By empowering our students to become leaders and mentors, we are building a more responsible and aware future generation. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare for successfully organising the event.
