Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today Ranking (various categories)is serving the society ceaselessly in these difficult days of lockdown through various initiatives. In another initiative, PG Department of Computer Science & Applications has started six days free online course on Advance Computer topics under the umbrella of KMV KARES. The free online course has received the participation of more than 50 people of different age and profession along with some college and school students. The first class was taken by Mrs Suman Khurana on Zoom platform in two virtual meetings on the topic of Advanced Google Search Techniques. She demonstrated all the advanced options of google to obtain the refined search results. Every option was explained with suitable examples and screen sharing. She also illustrated how to search similar pages, related pages, text in URL/title/links and various other options. Additional features of google weather, maps, share prices, conversions, blog etc. were also discussed. She further elaborated on google tools, google news, google images, froogle, doodle, news, books, scholar, google docs and google drive. The queries were also taken up in the last 10 minutes. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the PG Department of Computer Science& Applications has taken the initiative of offering these services for the well being of the society. This philanthropic service is the need of the hour as it is important to stay update with digital platform during these days of lockdown. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of teachers of PG Department of Computer Science & Applications for this noble initiative during these testing times.
