KMV Empowers Future Eco-Preneurs with “From Plantation to Profit” Exhibition

Event Date

March 12, 2026

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Department of Bio-Technology organized an exhibition titled “From Plantation to Profit – Promoting Green Startups” to create awareness among students about plantation-based entrepreneurship and the growing scope of green startups in building a sustainable future. The activity aimed to inspire students to explore innovative and environmentally responsible business ideas that combine ecological sustainability with economic opportunities. The participants presented a wide range of plantation-based entrepreneurial concepts including cultivation of medicinal plants, herbal cosmetics, organic farming techniques, eco-friendly packaging from plant materials, and small-scale industries based on plantation resources. The displays reflected how natural plant resources can be converted into valuable products while maintaining ecological balance. The exhibition also highlighted the growing demand for herbal and organic products in modern markets and emphasized the importance of sustainable agriculture. Students explained how plantation-based ventures can generate employment opportunities, promote rural development, and support environmental conservation. Such activities help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by encouraging students to apply scientific concepts to real-life challenges. The event also helped students develop creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the exhibition successfully conveyed the message that plantation is not only essential for environmental conservation but also holds great potential for sustainable economic development.
