Prof. Robert Urban, Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary delivers an insightful address

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Psychology organized an International Webinar on “Introduction to Health Psychology”. The distinguished resource person for the session was Prof. Robert Urban, Professor at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, a renowned academician and researcher in the field of Health Psychology. The webinar aimed to introduce students and faculty to the emerging domain of Health Psychology, which integrates psychological principles with physical health and wellbeing. Prof. Urban elaborated on the biopsychosocial model of health, the role of behavioural factors in illness prevention, and the importance of psychological interventions in promoting overall wellbeing. His engaging presentation was followed by an interactive discussion where participants raised insightful questions related to stress management, lifestyle diseases, and the application of health psychology in clinical and community settings. The students appreciated the clarity and depth with which Prof. Urban explained complex concepts, making the session both informative and inspiring. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such webinars are very useful for the students as they provide them with in-depth knowledge related to pertinent issues and topics.
