Offers Fee Waivers and Global Research Opportunities 

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in order to further promote excellence in Physics education and research, the PG Department of Physics has invited applications for B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics, M.Sc. (FYIP) (Physics) and M.Sc. Physics programs under the prestigious Darshana & Arun Varshneya Stipends for Excellence in Glass Science. These stipends are designed to support meritorious students and encourage advanced studies in one of the most promising areas of materials science. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that under this scheme, the first fifteen students admitted will receive generous financial support. The first five students will be awarded a 100% tuition fee waiver, the next five students will receive a 50% waiver, and the following five students will benefit from a 25% waiver. This initiative is designed to recognize academic merit and make high-quality physics education more accessible to aspiring students. In addition to the fee waivers, all students admitted under this initiative will be eligible for fully funded travel to attend national and international scientific conferences, providing them with valuable exposure to the global research community.Prof.  Dwivedi further maintained that the Department of Physics at KMV continues to set new benchmarks in academic brilliance, scientific research and innovation. Its contribution to Glass Science and to the empowerment of young researchers is truly commendable. KMV is proud of the department’s sustained efforts in uplifting scientific temper among women students and placing KMV on the global academic map. These accomplishments reaffirm KMV’s commitment to nurturing a generation of scholars and scientists who are prepared to lead with knowledge, creativity and confidence in the global scientific arena and with a dynamic faculty and an active research culture, the department has emerged as a centre of excellence, especially in the domain of Glass Science. It is pertinent to mention that the Department of Physucs at KMV is backed by prestigious national grants such as FIST-DST, CURIE, and DBT, and proudly hosts Punjab’s only Anveshika Centre, is also the part of Padma Shri Prof. H.C. Verma’s National Anveshika Network of India (NANI)—a hub for hands-on physics education and experimental learning.
