Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in order to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug addiction in association with Red Ribbon Club, Jalandhar organized district level event. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest IAS Mukilan. R (Assistant Commissioner, Jalandhar) and Guest of Honour KMV Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of youth participation in anti-drug campaigns. The event was enhanced by presence of Mr. Ravi Dara Ji (Assistant Director Youth Services, Punjab), Mrs. Anju Madam, Mr. Davinder Dyalpuri, faculty members and students attended the event in large numbers, showing their support for this noble cause. On this occasion, a “Nasha Virodhi Geetan Da Mukabala” (Anti-Drug Song Competition). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges. Each team presented self-composed songs in Punjabi language, focusing on the ill effects of drug addiction, the value of a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of making positive choices in life. The performances were deeply emotional and impactful, leaving a strong impression on the audience. The songs covered various aspects such as the mental and physical destruction caused by drugs, the pain of families affected by addiction, call to youth to rise above peer pressure & the need to choose education, sports, and culture over intoxication. The judging panel included Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, Dr. Pooja Kapoor, and Devinder Dyalpuri who assessed the performances on the basis of lyrics, originality, presentation, and emotional impact. All participants were awarded certificates of appreciation. Department of Music of KMV were also honoured on this occasion. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the winners and encouraged everyone to act as ambassadors of a drug-free society.She further maintained that the event successfully conveyed the message of saying no to drugs and choosing a path of awareness, responsibility and positivity.
