Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Economics  organized a Simulated World Economic Forum (WEF) as part of its academic endeavour to give students exposure of global economic governance and international policy dialogue. The event aimed to replicate the structure of the World Economic Forum by engaging students in discussions on contemporary global challenges. The event commenced with the floral felicitation of Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The session was anchored by Riya Juneja (BA–IV) as Anchor who introduced the theme and objectives of the forum. Participants represented various global leaders and heads of  international institutions. Manjot Kaur (B.Sc. Eco–VI) portrayed Donald Trump (USA), Nidhi Sharma (BBA–II) represented Ursula von der Leyen (European Union), and Riya Sharma (M.Com FYIP–IV) enacted Ashwini Vaishnaw (India).Further representations included Mehak (B.Sc. Eco–IV) as Mark Carney (Canada), Diksha (B.Sc. Eco–IV) as Friedrich Merz (Germany), Sneha (B.Sc. Eco–IV) as Emmanuel Macron (France), and Simran Sharma (M.Com FYIP–IV) as He Lifeng (China). Vishali (M.Com FYIP–IV) portrayed Gita Gopinath (IMF), while Gurleen Kaur (M.Com FYIP–IV) represented Sunil Mittal (Industrialist).The forum deliberated on global economic slowdown, inflationary pressures, climate change, sustainable development, trade relations, technological advancement, and geopolitical tensions. Each participant presented the economic priorities and policy perspectives of their respective country or institution.The Simulated World Economic Forum enhanced students’ understanding of international economic governance, multilateral cooperation, and global interdependence. The event fostered critical thinking, diplomacy, and communication skills, making it an intellectually stimulating and enriching academic experience. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed deep appreciation for the dynamic and intellectually enriching event praising it as an innovative and effective method of experiential learning. She averred that these kinds of activities make students better learners and boost their confidence. She congratulated Mrs. Amarpreet Khurana, Head, PG Department of Economics and the entire faculty of Economics for meticulously organising the event.
