Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has taken a significant step towards technological advancement and sustainable campus management by successfully writing off outdated electronic waste and introducing a modern IT infrastructure across the institution. Under this initiative, obsolete electronic equipment including old desktops, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mouse devices, speakers, and CPUs were systematically identified and removed as part of the institution’s e-waste management and modernization drive and handed over to the NGO Pehal for environmentally responsible recycling and disposal. The NGO ensured that the e-waste would be processed in accordance with applicable environmental norms, thereby preventing hazardous materials from entering landfills. This initiative reflects KMV’s commitment towards maintaining an eco-friendly and technologically updated academic environment. Simultaneously, the institution has upgraded its IT ecosystem with advanced technological facilities to enhance teaching-learning processes, administrative efficiency, digital communication, and student support services. The newly introduced infrastructure includes modern computer systems, upgraded networking facilities, improved digital resources and smart technology-enabled systems aimed at strengthening academic excellence and innovation. Expressing her views on the initiative, Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director, KMV, stated that the modernization drive aligns with the institution’s vision of providing students and faculty with a contemporary, technology-driven educational environment. She emphasized that the adoption of advanced IT infrastructure will further strengthen digital learning, research activities, and innovative academic practices within the institution. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the collective efforts of the administrative and technical teams involved in the successful implementation of the initiative and reiterated KMV’s commitment towards sustainability, innovation, and academic excellence through continuous infrastructural development.
