KMV’s Bio-Technology students gain practical expertise through diverse industrial training

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous )students of the Department of Bio-Technology have successfully completed their industrial training, a crucial component of their academic curriculum. This comprehensive training initiative was designed to equip students with hands-on experience and insights into real-world applications of biotechnology in both clinical and industrial domains.During the training period, students were placed at various prestigious institutions and organizations where they gained valuable exposure. At Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar, students learned about clinical diagnostics and hospital-based laboratory practices. Swiss Garnier Life Sciences provided them with an understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, and formulation processes. Training at ITC Limited enabled students to explore food processing, packaging, and quality assurance techniques.Further enriching their learning, students were trained at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bio resource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, where they delved into advanced research in plant biotechnology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Clinical diagnostics, lab report generation, and patient sample analysis were key focus areas during training at Divine Medicare and Alpha Care Lab. At Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar, students gained practical exposure to dairy processing, microbiological testing, and hygiene maintenance in the food industry. Additionally, at Bharat X-Ray and Clinical Center, students observed radiological diagnostics and imaging technologies employed in modern healthcare systems. This diverse and extensive industrial exposure not only enhanced the students’ technical proficiency but also improved their problem-solving abilities and overall industry preparedness.Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students and faculty for the successful completion of the trainings. She lauded the students for their dedication and emphasized the department’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. She also reiterated KMV’s unwavering commitment to experiential learning, skill enhancementand academic excellence.
