  • Prize Distribution Function held at KMV

    700 Prizes Distributed for Excellence in Academics & Co-Curricular Activities

    Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar in recognition of academic excellence and meritorious achievements of its scholars organized 133rd Annual Prize Distribution Function. The Chief Guest Hon. Ms Upma Chawdhry, IAS, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India was accorded floral felicitations on this occasion. A special formal welcome was also extended by NSS Volunteers to the chief guest, an alumna of KMV. The Presiding Dignitary, Sh. Chander Mohan ji, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, welcoming the distinguished guests reaffirmed his faith in the immense potential and monumental will of the KMV scholars, mentoring skills of the faculty and futuristic vision of the college Principal that are taking KMV to a newer heights. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi read out the detailed Annual Report of the college’s outstanding achievements in various fields-academics, co academics, sports, cultural activities etc. As many as 700 prizes were distributed to the deserving scholars enumerating numerous success stories, Principal apprised the eminent guests that the institution is creating history by setting up new milestones in the academic arena. KMV is the first women institution in Punjab to earn the coveted status of Autonomous institution- a prestigious position that bestows the college the freedom to bring out academic reforms for the progression of young India. The event also witnessed the three releases on this occasion, another issue of ‘Unmilan’- an annual Hindi research journal by PG Department of Hindi, ‘Wings- A Fly Towards Excellence’ issue II comprising research articles by PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration & ”Sports Newsline” by Department of Sports & Physical Education. Ms Navjot Kaur, a student of MA English was adjudged the Best Student of the Year for her outstanding performance in academic as well as cultural activities. Congratulating the achievers, Ms Upma Chawdhry wished them for their bright future and expressed her profound pleasure on her visit to her Alma Mater. Sharing the nostalgic moments of her life at KMV, its traditions, cultural values & ethos, Ms Chawdhry motivated the young scholars to cherish their student life by not letting go any opportunity that comes in their way while exploring their potential. Primary influences must be internalized as these shape up one’s future self. Learning along with the skills, conviction in one’s choices, perseverance and to make most of one’s present are a few tips on the road to success. The formal Vote of Thanks was accorded by esteemed Sh. Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee to all the distinguished guests and luminaries for gracing the occasion. Mrs Madhubala, Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Smt. Sushila Bhagat, Dr Sushma Chawla, Dr Deepali Luthra, Dr Satpal Gupta, Dr Naresh Dhiman, members of the KMV Managing Committee were also present on the occasion.
