Vikram Pragyan Duo on Moon Back

Kanya Maha Vidyalya always focuses on the overall development of the students and as time changes, so must we, therefore, here at KMV, harness new ideas and technology. To celebrate India’s Chandrayan-3 mission, the members of Vipnet club P.G. Department of Physics and KMV IAPT Anveshika centre Jalandhar organized a 6 days celebration week as Chandrayan week namely “Vikram Pragyan Duo on moon” in which various events named EXPLORING VISION, BRAINSTORM-Mind war, SCI-CREATIVE, INDIA ON MOON, PRESENTACIÓN and FORUMSCAPE were organized on each day. Students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in all the events. Their love for India could be clearly seen in their enthusiastic participation in events.

On the first day Sci-Fi movie on the theme of Space had been shown to the students. The title of the movie was “Timelapse of the future: A journey to the end of time” by “melodysheep”. It was the picture of the future as painted by modern science- a picture that will surely evolve over time as we dig for more clues to how our story will unfold. This experience took the students on a journey to the end of time, trillions of years into the future, to discover the fate of our planet and our universe. The students as well as teachers enjoyed the short movie and discussed its importance at the end of the movie.

On the second day an intellectual and science- oriented event ” Brainstorm-Mind War online quiz was organised. The theme of the event was ‘Science with Intellectualist ‘. In online quiz competition questions regarding basic science were asked. In this total 20 questions were asked and time given was 15 minutes. The event received an extremely delighted participation and tremendous response from all over the country.

On the third day a Debate competition entitled “Forumscape” was organised. The topics chosen for debate were: Use of Artificial intelligence, Nuclear missions of India and Space missions of India. All the participants expressed their views firmly and confidently. Judges were happy to see excitement among the students. This event not only educated the audience about the discussed topics but also inspired young minds to think critically about the pros and cons of discussed topics. It was a thrilling event. In the event Navneet from B.Sc. Non. Medical Sem 5 along with Sharanjit from M.Sc. Physics Sem 3 bagged first position. Second position was achieved by Mansi from B.Sc. Non. Medical Sem 5 and third position was bagged by Beenu from B.Sc. Non. Medical Sem 5.

On day four a recreational and science-oriented Poster presentation event was organised. The theme of the event was ‘Indian Space Missions’. This event aimed to demonstrate various Indian space mission like Chandaryaan 1, Chandaryaan 2, Mars Mission and the latest of all ‘Chandaryaan 3’ through which India became the First country to land on the south pole of the moon. The students got a chance to show their creativity through this event.

The winner of the Poster making competition was Khushi BSc Hons Physics Sem 5. The second position was held by Akshita MSc Physics Sem 3 and Aamna MSc Physics Sem 3 got third position.

On the fifth day, the landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon was telecasted. The Vikram lander from Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down as planned. The interaction of the scientists behind the mission Chandrayaan 3 was shown to students to motivate them and to give a fire to their pride for the nation. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief Sreedhara Panicker Somanath said the successful landing “is not our work alone, this is the work of a generation of ISRO scientists”. Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated the whole team of ISRO and the citizens of India as well as the whole world. He added “Our country India became the first country to land a spacecraft on the south pole of the moon”. Students keenly participated in it and discussed various aspects of such missions

On the sixth day, Power Presentation was given by Manjusha B.Sc. Hons Physics Sem 5 on space missions of India. She explained the space missions of India, achievements of ISRO that inspired all the students to achieve such great successes in their lives. A movie ROCKETRY: NAMBI EFFECT was also shown to the students that was based on the life of Narayan Nambi, Indian aerospace scientist who worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and contributed significantly to the Indian space program by developing the Vikas rocket engine.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission celebratory events successfully engaged the students, instilled a sense of national pride, and promoted interest in science, technology, and space exploration. These events served as a testament to India’s growing capabilities in space exploration and its commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. The Chandrayaan-3 mission not only advanced our understanding of the moon but also brought people together to celebrate the nation’s achievements and its bright future in the realm of space exploration.

Madam Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of faculty as well as the enthusiasm of students. She also stated that the college is striving ceaselessly to maintain its standards of excellence by fostering an environment of endless opportunities and promoting a culture of life-long learning. Binding up the event, Mrs Parminder Cheema, HOD Physics Department presented a vote of thanks and appreciated students for their co – operation and active participation.
