  • About us:

    Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, an Autonomous and Heritage Institution is providing an innovative environment for students to discover and develop their skills.

     P.G. Department of Physics has established an independent place of learning, inspiration, motivation, imagination and thinking- INNOVATION HUB on 18th March, 2019.

    In order to enhance the creativity and skill in Education of Basic Physics, some experiments like circular pendulum, an harmonic oscillator, Transmission line, Black hole, Air cannon, Doppler Effect, rotational Motion, Motion in inclined plane, energy transfer in spring and many more set ups, are installed to make it easier for students to understand the concepts of Physics in a practical way.

  • Mission and Vision

    It’s an effort to develop momentum in the minds of young students. Students are encouraged to investigate new facts about each instrument and are motivated to plan different experiments and activities related to equipment.

    To boost the innovative culture among budding innovators and to enable the student’s minds to transcend books step into the real world by relating all that they learn or observe in their daily life.

  • Institutional innovative approach

    Creativity goes hand in hand with innovation and improves the process of solving problems. So innovation increases the chances to react through changes and discover new opportunities. Thus, to foster competitive skills a number of innovative programs have been organized in continuation, so as to able our students to accept challenges to meet future demands. Our institute pursues innovative approach to upgrade innovative skills among young innovators that starts from idea pooling and ends with creation of social acceptable prototypes. Details are as follows

    • Idea pooling session – To fetch an idea for new innovation, some activities are held at KMV innovation hub named Creative Mind Teasers, Journey that leads Frugal Innovations , Anubhooti-Student  student Mentoring  workshop and many more.
    • Idea selection: In the second stage of innovative approach, some great ideas are selected like Stagnated Water Ejector, Bluetooth Operated Driverless Car , Roadex Trellies, Driver Antisleep Wireless Device, Laser Security Alarm etc after idea pooling sessions.

    • Mentoring and Processing : To Execute the selected idea, Experiential learning at Innovation Hub ,Invited Sessions by expertise professionals, Hands on training workshops ,Exposure of innovation centers at various institute of national repute , Student-Student Mentoring – ANUBHOOTI like programs are executed under guidance of expert faculty.
    • Prototype Development: Some outstanding outcomes are Roadex Trellies , Bhavishya Yaan , Magnificent Sustainable Vidyut  Davasaaz Niyantran made by KMVites.
  • Student’s Achievements after hand on training: 2022-2023

    1) Smart India Hackathon

    Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving.

    “Disha -2022”
    To participate in Smart India Hackathon an inter-department hackathon named “Disha -2022” was organized to pooled various innovative ideas to solve several society based problems like Disposal of used masks, Laser Security, Power crisis, touch less sanitizers, touch less attendance systems etc. In this 25 Number of Ideas were Submitted out of which 10 number of ideas were nominated and Three innovative
    ideas were selected at grand finale of Smart India Hackathon – 2022 named Gripping grammar, seg-re-create , security alert system .

    2) Participation in YUKTI- National Innovation Repository (NIR) program

    YUKTI- National Innovation Repository (NIR) program of Institution’s Innovation Council, an initiative
    of the Ministry of Education
    , Government of India. Total 124 students registered under this program. 65 innovation ideas, 35 prototypes and 20start-ups were submitted on YUKTI portal. Ministry of innovation cell recommended 50 innovative ideas along with 27 prototypes and 10 startups. Such appreciation gives boost young innovators.

     

     

     

     

     

    3)  IDEATHON (INTER-INSTITUTIONAL IDEA COMPETITION(IIIC’23)

    Three teams from KMV actively presented their three innovative projects in the IDEATHON (INTER-INSTITUTIONAL IDEA COMPETITION (IIIC’23) conducted at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar competition and provided out of box solutions to the basic problems. Nearly 100 contestants shared their ideas. Budding KMV Innovating ideas were:

     

    1) ‘Roadex-trellis’- To remove the stagnated water on the roads

    2) Touchless switches & Hand-Sanitizer

    3) Seg-re-create’- To improve society waste collecting habits

     

    Our one team having idea of Roadex Trellies lead by Ms Haraman mentored by Dr. Neetu Verma and Dr. Surbhi was selected among top 30 achievers of IDEATHON 2023.

     

  • Student’s Achievements after hand on training: 2021-2022

    1) INNOVESTA -2021
    Innovative Idea of KMViets got selected in INNOVESTA -2021. Six 6 students of department
    of Physics have participated in INNOVESTA- 2021 on 25th Sept, 2021 organized by
    Dr. B.R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology in the online mode. Dr. Dipan Sahu, Asst.
    Innovation Director, MoE’s Innovation Cell, AICTE Government of India has graced the event
    as a chief guest of the event. This mega event witnessed huge participation of around 80
    teams from various institutes of repute across the globe. Young innovators from different
    countries like France, Austria, South Korea, Utah, Bangladesh, Nepal and India participated
    in the event. KMViets have also showcased their unique and innovative ideas in this event.
    Students have developed an automatic machine of hand
    sanitizer, touch less switches and have also constructed a project on stagnant waste
    water problem. To resolve the problems existing in the society, in the on-going time of
    pandemic, students have realized the need of frequent sanitization. With these objective
    students have developed touch less hand sanitizing machine which will be installed in the
    entrance of their class rooms KMViets have developed an automatic machine of hand
    sanitizer, touch less switches and have also constructed a project on stagnant waste water
    problem. Students showcased their unique and innovative ideas in the Inter-National level
    event Innovesta- 2021. Projects were adjudged Best Idea category and won cash prize of
    1000/-

    2) GRAND FINALE TOYCATHON 2021:

    Under the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. NarendraModi, Toycathon-2021 is conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games .Among 9 of submitted ideas, our two novel ideas got selected in TOYCATHON-2021 Grand-Finale ( Physical Edition)  Held at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology(PIET), Panipat.  The idea was based on Bluetooth controlled car model which visualizes the futuristic driverless car with essential safety features as the future of roads. Just an oral or a written command to the vehicle interface will take us to our destination.

     TOYCATHON 2021 

    The Other idea of  Sag-re-create a digital toy game used for solid waste management was presented in the digital edition where PM’s MODI Interacted  with the Finalists of Toycathon-2021- Digital Edition . In this game solid waste will be segregated by drag and drop method in a particular bin and then it will collect recyclable items from the bin.

     

  • Student’s Achievements after hand on training: 2023-2024

    Let Start’s Start-up

    An Inter- Institutional Let Start’s Start-up Pitching Competition was organized by Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Yukti 2.0, Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Punjab, India from 11th August-13th August 2023. A startup pitching competition put startup, early stage, and/or expanding enterprises against one another. The objective of this competition was for participants to create and submit unique ideas or finish their existing business plans, with the top three winning plans receiving prizes. Over 50 people   registered for the event from different institutions, and 30 teams were chosen and invited to speak. The Let Start’s Startup Competition saw participation from a diverse group of students from various academic backgrounds. This diversity of thought and expertise enriched the competition and showcased the breadth of innovation. The competition kicked off with the intense “Elevator Pitch” rounds, where participants succinctly presented their business ideas to a panel of judges. A total of six teams from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya went to present startup ideas at NIT along with three faculty members on 12 August, 2023. Research X, team form Kanya Maha Vidyalaya also wins the special appreciation award for their idea. Research X focused on opening a research centre for school students that would provide them a dedicated space for hands on learning and experimental training. YUKTI 2.0 proved to be a catalyst for sparking innovation and fostering entrepreneurship. The event’s ability to bring together startup enthusiasts, industry experts, and investors created an environment where ideas flourished.

  • Mentoring programs for other institutes to explore innovation hub

    • PG. Department of Physics has organized several Mentorship Programs to inculcate scientific temperament among students of other institutions. Under this program students from different institutions are invited to Innovation hub and are given the liberty to explore concepts related to different setups in innovation hub.

    • POPULARIZING INNOVATION AMONG MASSES IN RURAL AREA:

    Office bearers of innovation hub Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar are constantly working in the directions of imparting science education through innovative teaching methodologies. For this a Social Outreach Program on “Popularizing Science among school students” to inculcate scientific temperament among students of various schools of Jalandhar is organized.

     

  • Mentoring Sessions for Teaching Faculty

    To “up skilled” the basic concepts and to create interest in sciences through innovative experiments various mentoring programs for faculty also are organized in innovation hub .Such workshops maximize the ability of faculty to teach and to create learner-centered teaching. Teachers interacted with great enthusiasm & showed their interest in all activities. This workshop proved as an enjoyable, interesting & knowledgeable activity which was totally different from regular classes.

Student’s Achievements after hand on training: 2021-2022

1) INNOVESTA -2021
Innovative Idea of KMViets got selected in INNOVESTA -2021. Six 6 students of department
of Physics have participated in INNOVESTA- 2021 on 25th Sept, 2021 organized by
Dr. B.R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology in the online mode. Dr. Dipan Sahu, Asst.
Innovation Director, MoE’s Innovation Cell, AICTE Government of India has graced the event
as a chief guest of the event. This mega event witnessed huge participation of around 80
teams from various institutes of repute across the globe. Young innovators from different
countries like France, Austria, South Korea, Utah, Bangladesh, Nepal and India participated
in the event. KMViets have also showcased their unique and innovative ideas in this event.
Students have developed an automatic machine of hand
sanitizer, touch less switches and have also constructed a project on stagnant waste
water problem. To resolve the problems existing in the society, in the on-going time of
pandemic, students have realized the need of frequent sanitization. With these objective
students have developed touch less hand sanitizing machine which will be installed in the
entrance of their class rooms KMViets have developed an automatic machine of hand
sanitizer, touch less switches and have also constructed a project on stagnant waste water
problem. Students showcased their unique and innovative ideas in the Inter-National level
event Innovesta- 2021. Projects were adjudged Best Idea category and won cash prize of
1000/-

2) GRAND FINALE TOYCATHON 2021:

Under the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. NarendraModi, Toycathon-2021 is conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games .Among 9 of submitted ideas, our two novel ideas got selected in TOYCATHON-2021 Grand-Finale ( Physical Edition)  Held at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology(PIET), Panipat.  The idea was based on Bluetooth controlled car model which visualizes the futuristic driverless car with essential safety features as the future of roads. Just an oral or a written command to the vehicle interface will take us to our destination.

 TOYCATHON 2021 

The Other idea of  Sag-re-create a digital toy game used for solid waste management was presented in the digital edition where PM’s MODI Interacted  with the Finalists of Toycathon-2021- Digital Edition . In this game solid waste will be segregated by drag and drop method in a particular bin and then it will collect recyclable items from the bin.

Let Start’s Start-up

An Inter- Institutional Let Start’s Start-up Pitching Competition was organized by Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Yukti 2.0, Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Punjab, India from 11th August-13th August 2023. A startup pitching competition put startup, early stage, and/or expanding enterprises against one another. The objective of this competition was for participants to create and submit unique ideas or finish their existing business plans, with the top three winning plans receiving prizes. Over 50 people   registered for the event from different institutions, and 30 teams were chosen and invited to speak. The Let Start’s Startup Competition saw participation from a diverse group of students from various academic backgrounds. This diversity of thought and expertise enriched the competition and showcased the breadth of innovation. The competition kicked off with the intense “Elevator Pitch” rounds, where participants succinctly presented their business ideas to a panel of judges. A total of six teams from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya went to present startup ideas at NIT along with three faculty members on 12 August, 2023. Research X, team form Kanya Maha Vidyalaya also wins the special appreciation award for their idea. Research X focused on opening a research centre for school students that would provide them a dedicated space for hands on learning and experimental training. YUKTI 2.0 proved to be a catalyst for sparking innovation and fostering entrepreneurship. The event’s ability to bring together startup enthusiasts, industry experts, and investors created an environment where ideas flourished.

Mentoring programs for other institutes to explore innovation hub

  • PG. Department of Physics has organized several Mentorship Programs to inculcate scientific temperament among students of other institutions. Under this program students from different institutions are invited to Innovation hub and are given the liberty to explore concepts related to different setups in innovation hub.

  • POPULARIZING INNOVATION AMONG MASSES IN RURAL AREA:

Office bearers of innovation hub Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar are constantly working in the directions of imparting science education through innovative teaching methodologies. For this a Social Outreach Program on “Popularizing Science among school students” to inculcate scientific temperament among students of various schools of Jalandhar is organized.

 

Mentoring Sessions for Teaching Faculty

To “up skilled” the basic concepts and to create interest in sciences through innovative experiments various mentoring programs for faculty also are organized in innovation hub .Such workshops maximize the ability of faculty to teach and to create learner-centered teaching. Teachers interacted with great enthusiasm & showed their interest in all activities. This workshop proved as an enjoyable, interesting & knowledgeable activity which was totally different from regular classes.
