The PG Department of Zoology of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar celebrated Wildlife Week with great enthusiasm from October 2nd to 8th, 2025. The main objective of this celebration was to create awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation, promote sustainable living, and inspire students to contribute actively to the protection of biodiversity.

To make the week meaningful and engaging, a series of well-planned activities were organized. These included a Poster Presentation Contest, Reel Making Contest, Slogan Writing Contest and Paper Writing Contest. The poster and slogan writing contests gave students a creative platform to express their thoughts on wildlife protection. The reel-making contest allowed them to convey strong conservation messages in a one-minute format, making it more impactful and youth-friendly.

The paper writing contest encouraged students to think critically and write about wildlife issues in about 250 words.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the best entries to recognize and encourage active participation. The event was conducted under the guidance and support from Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director

Overall, the Wildlife Week celebration was a resounding success. It inspired students to value biodiversity, conserve natural resources, and spread the message of environmental stewardship. Such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens committed to protecting the planet.
