Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Environment Day in order to spread awareness about the environmental conservation and sustainability on June 5, 2025. Every year the opportunity is grabbed to sensitize students and faculty regarding this vital environmental issue. This year, reflecting upon the theme of World Environment Day i.e. “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally”, highlighting the urgent need for collective action to address the escalating issue of plastic waste, various events were organised to make students aware about the environment conservation.
A plantation drive was organised and the students also took the pledge to keep the environment clean and plastic free. The students planted various useful medicinal and herbal plants like Neem, Amla, Tulsi, Peepal, Curry Leaf Tree etc. which help to release oxygen during night and keep the environment pollution free. They are also helpful in curing many diseases.
A Nukkad Natak, or street play, was also performed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic waste and promote a plastic-free environment.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students for joining the cause and asked them to connect to such initiatives in future too.
