Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today, has organized a five day Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired research (INSPIRE) camp sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, DST, Govt. of India. The Post Graduate Department of Mathematics is managed to organized 3rd and 4th day of the program. At the outset of third day, the Principal of KMV, Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guest Dr. Karmeshu, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Shiv Nadar University and Dr. Sanjeev Bakshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Thapar University.  In his first session, Dr. Karmeshu threw light on the topic ‘Probability and Computing’ the told about the importance of joy of learning in life. He also motivated the students by highlighting that intellectual incitement leads to the real passion which assist them to succeed in life. In the second session, Dr. Karmeshu elaborated different concept of Pressure, number of seconds in a year and Ramanujan formula and Monte Carlo Method. Dr. Sanjeev Bakshi gave presentation on the topic ‘Arithmetic by using Vedic Mathematics’. He elaborated the concept of solution of simple equation by beauty of vedic mathematics. The main objective behind his lecture was to  remove the fear of Mathematics by developing analytical skills among students through Vedic Mathematics and promoted the Ancient Indian mathematics. Along with the session, Mrs. Amandeep, Department of Mathematics, KMV organized and activity ‘Fun with Numbers’. On the fourth day of the program, three eminent personalities, Dr. Ravi Kumar, NIT Hamirpur, Dr. Arvind Dhillon, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, Dr. Awadesh Pandey, Adarsh Hospital, Amritsar graced the occasion. Dr. Ravi Kumar delivered his presentation on ‘Nuclear Power and Safety: Clean energy source’ and gave a detailed information by highlighting that emission of excessive Carbon Dioxide is a global concern and it will be pushed up to 130% by 2050 if the current scenario persist. The second talk of the day was delivered by Dr. Awadhesh Pandey who presented his talk on ‘Nuclear Medicine’. He addressed the students by saying that Nuclear medicine imaging  uses small amounts of radioactive materials called radiotracers that typically injected into the bloodstream, inhaled or swallowed. The third presentation was given by Dr. Arvind Dhillon working in an area of Quantum Information theory. He explained the basic concepts of Quantum Mechanics. Dr. Neetu Chopra, Department of Physics, KMV conducted a workshop in which she demonstrated different experiments like water waves, waves in a string, eddy currents, magnetic brakes, magic tap and centre of gravity. Dr. Sonik Bhatia conducted the quiz on Kaun Banega Einstein. The students were also taken to the innovation Hub, established at KMV.  Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude towards all the guest speakers for providing such detailed information to the students. She also honored the guests with a memento and congratulated the organizers of the program.
