KMV celebrates the traditional festival of Teejdedicated to Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous)  celebrated the traditional festival of ‘Teej’with much fervour and gaiety in order to mark the traditional welcome of monsoon by one and all. The celebrations were infused with Nationalistic spirit and was dedicated to Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav- celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence. The celebrations were organized by the P.G. Department of Punjabi. Mrs. VaaniVij was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Honored Guests on the occasion were Dr. Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee, Dr. Sushma Chopra, Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs. NeerjaChander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs AnuradhaSondhi, Mrs Shiv Mittal, Mrs Sushila Bhagat, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Mrs Neeru Kapoor, Ms Jyoti Sharma and Ms Kanu Priya. They all were accorded with a warm floral welcome by Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi.The environment throbbed with folk dance performance and rendering of folk songs by the students. Adding rich hues to the occasion were multiple stalls of mehndi, eatables& selfie station. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivediapprised everyone regarding the significance of Teej in our culture. She averred that this festival is dedicated to daughters and sisters who visit their parents during the onsets of monsoon and is celebrated in Punjab by women of all faiths. She further maintained that KMV is committed to preserve the rich cultural heritage of our country as well as to the promotion of women education in the region. Mrs. VaaniVij speaking on the occasion said that KMV is an institution which is firmly rooted in its tradition and always work for the cause of women empowerment and emancipation. She also motivated all the students to pursue their dreams without thinking about any obstacle in order to succeed in life. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedicongratulated the organising committee on making the students connected to their roots by celebrating such traditional functions.Komal Sharma was declared as Miss Teej, Sargi was declared as 1st runner up & Shalini Sharma was declared as 2nd runner up.
