Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a special program on cancer awareness commemorating International Women’s Day. The program was organised jointly by Red Ribbon Club , PG Department of English and Department of Life Sciences.Dr. BurhanWani, M.D Internal Medicine, American Oncology Institute attended the event as a resource person. Dr. Burhan talked in detail about defining a dreadful disease like cancer as well as its types, symptoms, causes and timely treatment. Apart from this, he also provided information about the types of cancer being found in different age groups especially in women like Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer. While talking about Breast Cancer, he highlighted about its symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment. Along with this, the answers to the questions asked by the participants were also given by Dr. Burhan in a very simple manner.Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi while expressing gratitude to Dr. Burhan for providing important information on the subject averred that we should stay healthy by taking proper treatment of any disease by contacting with the doctor at the right time. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare Department and Mrs. Sadhna Tandon for successfully organising the program.
